4 years ago we decided to move back to Arizona. We’d lived there before when my oldest was a baby and we just knew the sunshine was the only cure for my debilitating depression and anxiety, spoiler alert, it wasn’t!
If we would have never moved to Arizona we wouldn’t have these two baby girls. I really think it was in God’s plan for us to move here so they could join our family. We needed them more then any of us knew.
I needed to move to see that medication was the answer for me. The stigma around mental health needs to end, especially around Black Mental Health. There is nothing wrong with prayer and positive thinking, but there’s also nothing wrong with taking medication.
The move to Arizona saved me, because it allowed me to release my negative ideas about medication and start taking it. Beyond medication, it gave me these two and I will always be eternally grateful.
Tell me something you’re grateful for.
